HelMet Library is a consortium of four public libraries in Finland: Espoo City Library, Helsinki City Library, Kauniainen City Library and Vantaa City Library. These four public libraries share the same library database and the library system. The Millennium Library System by Innovative Inter-faces Inc. was installed during 2002 and opened for public use on February 3rd 2003. The number of visits to HelMet Catalog/HelMet Web Library (www.helmet.fi) in 2010 totalled approximately 5,2 million.
Yearly (2003-2010) statistics about HelMet web visits can be found in the attachment.
Every city collects their own specific statistics. Therefore I cannot supply here any total figures.
Some information about HelMet Web Libary can be found on the Helmet homepage under the heading ’Help’ (change the language first into English). You may check the data under titles ’Website details’ and ’Description of the information system system provided by act on the openness of government activities’.
If you are intsrested in general statistics about Helsinki City Library users, loans, aqcuisitions etc, these pages may be useful to you (search by year, in Finnish only):
