NLA 2022: Literacy, Libraries, and The Civil Society
Libraries cultivate literacy for all ages. Literacy is a skill, but also a life-long practice of discovery, learning, and joy. Literacy has specific outcomes for personal and societal well-being by promoting participation to culture and society. It creates a sense of security and strengthens the democratic base of our communities.
The conference will consider how reading has changed. What are the challenges of literacy and literacy practices for young people, for example? And are libraries still important pillars of literacy?
The programme consists of interesting presentations from almost all Nordic countries, discussions, authors and music programmes and library guides (including in the Kirkkonummi Municipal Library Fyyri).
Parts of the conference will be streamed by Library Chanel (Kirjastokaista). Please note that remote participants also register.
